Our regal-looking Black Toast Crystal Glass Cake Dome With Stand deserves to take centre stage. It’s a cake dome worthy of displaying a cake with presence on the pottery stand: maybe a generously iced carrot cake with thick swoops of cream cheese frosting or a Victoria sponge with layer after layer of jam and cream, though cupcakes made with the children will also look extra splendid. Gather everyone around the table, put the kettle on and lift the cake cloche with a flourish as if unveiling a small sculpture. Because with a cake stand and glass dome like this, cake isn’t just afternoon tea. It’s an event.

The pottery stand has a nice weight to it that makes the whole piece feel stable, and the dome fits on snugly without wobbling. I set a tall layer cake under it for a dinner party and everyone kept commenting on how elegant it looked on the table.
