I've been using these for everything from penne to a late-night bowl of iced gems, and the medium size is spot on for a single serving. The rim is wide enough that grated cheese actually lands on the pasta instead of the table.

The medium size is just right for a single serving of pasta, though I wish the rim were a touch wider for catching stray croutons. It's held up fine in the dishwasher so far.
